CHAT PROGRAMS
Chat Programs are like bots you can use them to log on Battle.net with out StarCraft. Some chat programs are also bots most have a graphical interface for windows. If I can't log on to B-Net with StarCraft. I'll log on with a chat program to see who is on, or if I have someone waiting for me I can send them a message so they know what's up.
